Lower Dolpo is one of the most isolated parts of Nepal, where there is no means of transportation and communication. The trail is also not developed like other trekking region and has very limited teahouses. the rooms will be basic.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4264ft)

You will arrive at Kathmandu airport, where one of our team members will welcome you. He will take you to the hotel, and shortly brief you about the day program. In the evening, you will meet with other team mm=ember over welcome dinner.

Day 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

Today, you will go on a guided sightseeing tour of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You will visit several places like Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhnath Stupa, Swayambhunath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Your guide will tell you important events behind these monuments. Later, in the day, you will prepare for the trek. You will check all the gears and arrange the necessary documents that you have to carry while trekking.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj; 1 hour

After a quick breakfast, you will head to the airport to catch a flight to Nepalgunj. The flight will be an hour-long and scenic. Upon landing at Nepalgunj airport, you will head to the hotel. You can explore the market in the evening.

Day 04: Fly from Nepalgunj to Jhupal (Dolpo) (2,320m/7,610ft) and trek to Dunai (2,850m/9,348ft); 45 mins flight & 2-3 hours trek

The day began with a short 45 minutes flight from Nepalgunj to Jhupal. Jhupal is a beautiful small town located at the foothills of Himalayas. From here, you will trek through terraced fields and reach the Bheri River. Crossing its narrow gorge, you will continue walking reach Dunai, the administrative headquarters of Dolpo.

Day 05: Dunai to Tarakot (2,543m/8,341ft); 5-6 hours

Walking along the southern bank of Bheri river, you will ascend on an easy trail. The trail passes through deep gorges crossing hanging bridges and isolated villages. You will soon reach Tarakot located to the south of Bheri river.

Day 06: Tarakot to Laini (3,160 m/10,365 ft); 6-7 hours

the trail moves along the Tarap Chu river. You will cross this river two times and reach Sandul Gompa. From here, you will trek through terraced fields and fine villages. After a few ascends and descends, you will arrive at Laini.

Day 07: Laini to Nawarpani (3,545m/11,627 ft); 5-6 hours

The trail steeply moves above the Tarap River. The trail soon turns into a narrow gorge, where you can jump from one side to another. Further, you will ascend and descend to reach the bank of Chyugar Khola from where you will reach Nawarpani.

Day 08: Nawarpani to Dho Tarap (4,090m/13,415ft); 7-8 hours

The trail slowly ascends to Kamattarka located at the confluence of Tarap Chu and Lang Khola. You will cross a narrow gorge and leave the tree line behind. The trail now begins to show more juniper and bushes of roses. Enjoying beautiful landscape views, you will reach Dho Tarap.

Day 09: Rest Day at Dho Tarap for acclimatization

This is an acclimatization day for you to allow your body to adjust with the increasing altitude. You will spend the day exploring around the village and visiting nearby monasteries. You will get a chance to look into the daily lifestyle of the locals and their culture. The culture here will look similar to the people of Tibet. Moreover, you will also see Bon Po practices.

Day 10: Trek to Numa La Base Camp (4,440m/14,563 ft); 6-7 hours walk

The trail ascends to the Upper Tarap Valley. You will enjoy beautiful views of lush green grasslands on both sides of the river. Trekking along the side of Tarap Chu, you will traverse the wide plains and the high mountains of the Tarap Valley. You will reach Tokyu, where you see a monastery of the Chiba sect. From here, you will climb up on a rough path to reach Numa La Base Camp.

Day 11: Cross Numa La pass (5,190m/17,023ft) and camp at Pelung Tang (4,465m/14,645 ft); 6-7 hours

It is going to be the toughest walk today. You will ascend and reach the Numa La Pass. The trail will be steep and rock to the pass. From the pass, you can see amazing views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and other mountains. Further, you will descend and reach Pelung Tang for a night stay.

Day 12: Cross Baga La pass (5,070m/16,630ft) and trek to Dajok Tang (4,080m/13,382ft); 6 hours

You will continue ascending on the steep path and reach the top of the Baga La Pass. You will get to see wonderful landscape views. After spending some time at the top, you will descend to Dajok Tang, where you will be spending the night.

Day 13: Dajok Tang to Ringmo (3,600m/11,808ft); 3-4 hours

Trekking alongside beautiful pine forests and alpine vegetation, you will gradually ascend and descend to reach Ringmo village. It is a traditional Tibetan village.

Day 14: Hike to Phoksundo Lake

An exciting day when you will reach stunning Phoksundo Lake. On the trail, you will see yak caravans moving in and out of Tibetan borders. Upon reaching the lake, you will get to see surreal views, unlike any other place. You will be going to camp nearby the lake and end your day enjoying the gorgeous sunset.

Day 15: Phoksundo Lake to Shyanta (2,520m/8265 ft); 5-6 hours walk

The trail descends to Chepka. From here, you will walk following a huge overhanging rock. On the way, you will come across many medicinal herbs. Passing through small villages, you will reach Shyanta for a night stay.

Day 16: Shyanta to Jhupal

The trail move towards Jhupal. Trekking through lush forests, you will reach Sulighat surrounded by birch trees. Looking over the fantastic view of the mountain, you will gradually descend to Jhupal, where you will spend the night.

Day 17: Fly to Nepalgunj, fly to Kathmandu

From Nepalgunj, you will take an early flight back to Nepalgunj. Taking another flight, you will fly back to Kathmandu. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and explore around. In the evening, you will have a farewell dinner organized by the company.

Day 18: Final departure

With a pocket full of memories, it's time to return to the home. As per your flight departure time, one of our team members will drop you at the airport and say you our last goodbye.
