Day 01-04: Kathmandu (1,300 m) arrival
You will arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport. One of our team representatives will welcome you at the airport, and take you to the hotel. In the evening you will explore the bustling streets of Thamel, and end your day with delicious welcome dinner.
Day 05: Fly to Lhasa from Kathmandu
After a quick breakfast, you will go to the airport and fly to Lhasa. At Lhasa airport, one of our team delegates will pick you and move you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and explore around on your own.
Day 05/06: Lhasa sightseeing
It is a sightseeing day in Lhasa. You will visit the famous Potala Palace built in 637 AD by King Songtsen Gampo. It is the former home of the Dalai Lama on top of a single hill. From here, you will visit Ramoche Monastery and then to Norbulingka. Norbulingka is the summer palace of Dalai Lama. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest man-made garden in Tibet.
The next day, you will drive 5 km north of Lhasa to visit the most beautiful monastery of Lhasa, Sera Monastery. Back in time, this monastery used to be a shelter for more than 5,000 monks. Further, you will visit Jokhang Monastery. Here, you will see the golden relic of Sakyamuni Buddha, gifted by Chinese Princess Wen Cheng on the occasion of her wedding to the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo. Later, in the day, you will explore Barkhor Market and end your day doing shopping.
Day 07: Lhasa to Gyantse (3,900 m)
Today, you will drive to Gyantse. Crossing two high passes Kamba La (4,794 m) and Karo La Pass (5,010 m), you will reach Gyantse. On the way, you will also come across Yamdrok Tso, a beautiful turquoise lake.
Day 08: Gyantse to Shigatse (3,800 m)
You will begin your day with a visit to Gyantse stupa. After that, you will continue driving towards Shigatse. Upon reaching Shigatse, you will refresh and visit the famous Tashilumpo monastery, the seat of the Panchen Lama.
Day 09: Shigatse to Lhatse or Tingri (4,350 m/4,000m)
After breakfast, you will drive towards Tingri or Lhatse. Today also you will cross two passes from where you can see great landscape views. You will reach Lhatse, where you will take a lunch break. If you don't want to stay here, you will continue driving and reach Tingri for a night stay.
Day 10: Saga (4,450 m) or Dongba: (Labug-La 5,050 m, Peku-tso and Saga, 245 km)
Today is going to be a long driving day. The path will be sandy and rocky. During the river, you will get to see lovely lakes, and several yaks & sheep. Crossing Brahmaputra River, and reach Saga, a beautiful Tibetan town.
Day 11: Mansarovar (4,558 m)
After a quick breakfast, you will begin your journey towards Mansarovar following rivers and pastures. You will see several snow-covered mountains, rocky peaks, and sand dunes on the way. By the late afternoon, you will reach Mansarovar and have the first glimpse of Holy Kailash Parbat (4,558 m). Mansarovar is one of the holiest lakes for Hindus and home to hundreds of fishes. Around it, you will see Mt. Gurula-Mandata, Kailash Parbat, and Lake Rashekshi.
Day 12: Puja and drive to Tarchen (14,975ft)
You will wake up early in the morning and do puja. The lake has huge religious significance and known for its compassion, tranquility & bliss. After taking a holy bath in the lake, you will head towards Tarchen, the base camp of Kailash Parikrama.
Day 13: Hardest but Holiest day of your pilgrimage Yatra with Dolma-La Pass (18,600 ft) between two valleys
The most awaited day of the trip. Today is going to be the toughest yet the most memorable day of your journey. You will reach Yamasthal, where pilgrims leave back their old clothes or a drop of blood so that Yamraj (the master of death) can recognize the person and allow them to re-born after death. You will reach the top of the Dolma La Pass, where pilgrims and tourists hang prayer flags. From here, you will descend and pass by Parvatisthal and Gauri Kunda. The trail will take you to Zuthal Puk, known as the cave of miracles.
Day 14: End of Kailash Parikrama and drive to Manasarovar
This is the end of Kailash Parikrama. You will drive back to Manasarovar today. After breakfast, you will walk for around three hours and reach where the driving crew is waiting for you.
Day 15: Drive Manasarovar to Dongpa or Saga (460 km)
Leaving Manasarovar behind, you will drive back to Saga. The route will be the same as before.
Day 16: Drive Saga to Nylam or Zang Mu: (296 km)
After having a quick breakfast, you will begin driving towards Nylam. the drive will present you superb landscape views. Upon reaching Nylam, you will rest for the day and celebrate the success of the trip.
Day 17: Drive back to Kathmandu (150 km)
Today, you will drive back to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will move to the hotel and rest for the day. In the evening, you will do some shopping in the Thamel and end your day with a farewell dinner organized by the company.
Day 18: Transfer to the airport for your onward flight
After breakfast, one of our team members will take you to the airport for your flight back to your home or next destination
