Everest Helicopter Trek is an easy to moderate journey. As you will ascend from Phakding to Namche Bazar, the trail will get little challenging due to long steep climb. Even if you walk for a couple of days, you have to be in good shape and health. Prior trekking experience is not needed to go on EBC Heli Trek.
Altitude Sickness and Prevention
There is relatively less chance of getting altitude sickness on Everest Helicopter Trek. However, high elevation journey always carries chances of altitude sickness with itself that can occur to anyone individual regardless of their age and health. Also known as Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), it can be avoided by keeping yourself hydrated during the trek.

Everest Helicopter Trek begins with a breathtaking flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. From Lukla, you will begin trekking towards Namche Bazar. Next day, you will fly to Everest Base Camp and return to Lukla on the same day.

Best Season to go on Everest Helicopter Trek
Spring (March to April) and Autumn (late September to November) is considered the best time to go on Everest Helicopter Trekking. This is the best time of the year to travel in this region of Nepal as the views clear and fantastic. Moreover, the weather is neither too cold nor too hot, perfect to traverse.
Likewise, Monsoon (June to mid-September) is not a preferable time to go on trekking in the Everest region. The rainfall makes the views unclear and trail also become slippery & full of insects.
However, in Winter (December to February), people do go on trekking in this region, especially photographers as this is the best time to capture the excellent views of Himalayas. But, with excellent views comes harsh cold and heavy snowfall.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,400 m)
You will arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport where one of the representatives from Go For Nepal Treks & Expedition will welcome you on behalf of us. He will take you to the hotel. You can rest for the day. In the evening, you will explore colorful streets of Thamel, and have a delicious traditional welcome dinner.
Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2,804 m) and Trek to Phakding (2,610 m); 3-4 hrs
After a quick breakfast, you will head to the airport and fly to Lukla. The flight will be short and present you the aerial view of Himalayas. Upon reaching Lukla, you will take a short break, meet with other team members, and begin trekking towards Phakding.
From Lukla, you will descend through forested and trek along the Dudh Koshi River to reach Phakding village where you will stay overnight. Phakding will welcome you with a superb view of Kusum Kanguru Peak.
Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m); 5-6 hrs
Today, the trail ascends and takes you to Monjo. From here, you will trek through the Sagarmatha National Park. The trail will include several ascend & descends through dense forests, crossing several streams and rivers. Passing by small settlement areas, you will reach Jorsale where you will cross a suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River and climb to Namche Bazar.
Day 04: Acclimatization Hike around Namche Bazaar
This is your rest day in Namche Bazar to acclimate your body to the increased elevation. You will spend the day traversing around and going short excursion to nearby places like Syangboche Airstrip and Everest View Hotel to observe excellent views of Himalayan mountains like Mt. Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku, Kongde Ri, etc. After the short excursion, you will come back to Namche Bazar and visit the Everest Photo Gallery and Sherpa Culture Museum.
Day 05: Everest Heli Tour and Stay at Lukla Overnight at Luxury Lodge
Today, you will wake up early and have a delicious breakfast. After that, you will walk up to the helipad and go on Everest Heli Tour. From here, you will fly over the Khumbu region and reach Everest Base Camp in a few hours. In the flight, you will get to see outstanding views of Himalayas. You will spend some time on EBC and fly back to Lukla for night stay.
**Day 06: Fly to Kathmandu in the morning and rest for the whole day **
An early morning flight will take you back to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be moved to the hotel. Rest of the day is free for you to explore the nearby market and do shopping. Later, in the late evening, you will have a farewell dinner organized by the company.
Day 07: Depart from Kathmandu
This is your last day in Kathmandu. You will get transferred to the airport as per your flight time by one of our team members.
