Altitude Sickness and Prevention

To avoid AMS, the first thing you have to do is check your itinerary if there are enough rest days or not in the itinerary. Also, maintain the elevation you are getting in a day. Gaining 500 meters per day is the best way to avoid altitude sickness. Keep yourself hydrated, drink plenty of water.

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)
You will land at the Tribhuvan International Airport, where you will meet with one of our team representatives. He will take you to the hotel. Later, in the day or maybe in the evening, you will meet with other team members, and end your day with a delicious welcome dinner.
Day 02: Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft); trip preparation
Today, you will prepare for the trip. You will arrange all the equipment, check the gears one last time, and go through all the necessary documents that you have to carry during the trek. If you are left with some extra time then you will visit a couple of landmarks like Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swaymabhunath.
Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2,800m/9,184ft) then trek to Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft)
After breakfast, you will fly to Lukla. The flight will be thrilling and will offer you a first glimpse of Himalayas. From Lukla, you will begin trekking towards Phakding. The trail descends through the forest path and takes you to that village for night stay.
Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft); 5-6 hours
It is going to be hard trekking days as most of the trail ascends through the steep forested path. Also, you will get to enjoy beautiful views of nature and various Himalayan mountains on the way. The trail will take you to Monjo, the entry point of Sagarmatha National Park. From here, the trail passes by national park and crossing several streams, you will reach Namche Bazar.
Day 05: Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,283 ft); Acclimatization
This is your leisure day in Namche Bazar. Namche Bazar is the biggest Sherpa village in the Khumbu region and the most facilitated ones. Today, you will explore the villages, and go on short hikes to nearby places like Everest View Hotel or Syangboche Airstrip to witness more tempting views and acclimate your body. You can also hike to nearby Khumjung village, where you can visit an ancient monastery, Khumjung monastery. Here, you will get to see head to Yeti. Yes, you read right.
Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft); 5- 6 hours
The trail ascends to Phunki, and further, passes through lush forests of rhododendron, pine & oak. You will reach Tengboche, where you will visit the Tengboche monastery, the oldest and the biggest monastery in the Khumbu region. From the monastery, you will get to see stunning views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Thamserku, and Mt. Ama Dablam.
Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300 ft); 5-6 hours
The trail passes by a beautiful forest of birch, rhododendron & conifer and descends to Debuche. You will then cross the Imja river and ascend to Pangboche. Visiting the Pangboche monastery, you will enter in Imja Valley. The trail will take you to the confluence of the Lobuche River and descend to the river bed. From here, you will ascend and reach Dingboche.
Day 08: Dingboche: Acclimatization
This is your second rest day at Dingboche. You will go on a short hike to Chhukung. The trail will be adventurous as you will be walking on stony paths and glacier moraines. You will get to see a fantastic view of Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Island Peak, and Mt. Amphu Labtsa. After some time, you will walk back to Dingboche for a night stay.
Day 09: Dingboche to Lobuche (4940 m/16,207 ft); 5-6 hours
The trail gradually ascends to Duglha located at the end of the terminal moraine of the Khumbu glacier. From here, you will steeply climb up towards Chupki Lhara and continue along the Khumbu Glacier moraine. On the way, you will get to see superb views of Mt. Pumori, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Lingtren, and Mahalangur Himal.
Day 10: Lobuche to Gorakshep (5,170 m/16,961ft) to visit Everest Base Camp (5,364 m/17,594 ft); 6-7 hours
Today, you will be touching the Everest Base Camp. The trail passes through Indian army mountaineers memorials. You will be walking through moraine, rocky dunes, and streams, therefore make sure you are following the lead of your guide properly. Upon reaching the EBC, you will get to see panoramic views of Himalayas. After some time, you will descend to Gorak Shep for a night stay.
Day 11: Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft] and back to Lobuche (4,940m/16,207ft); 7-8 hours
The day begins early in the morning. You will ascend to the very famous Kala Patthar viewpoint located little above Everest Base Camp. From here, you will get to see gorgeous sunrise along with a view of Himalayas. Moreover, this place is also popular for a 360-degree view of Mt. Everest and other mountains. Soaking some breath-taking views, you will trek back to Lobuche for a night stay.
Day 12: Lobuche to High Camp (5,400m/17,712ft); 3-4 hours
Today, you will move towards the Lobuche High Camp via Lobuche Base Camp. The first part of the trail will be flat and easy, however as you will move further the path become tough. Enjoying tempting views of snow-capped Himalayan mountains, you will reach the base camp. From here, you will climb through rocky moraine and reach the High Camp. You might also need to use ropes and ladders to reach the high camp. Also, you will get training from the guide to use the gear properly.
Day 13: Lobuche High Camp to Summit (6,119m/20,070 ft) and back to High Camp; 8-10 hours
You will wake up in the middle of the night and begin climbing towards the summit of Mt. Lobuche. Your goal is to reach the summit before noon as it starts to get windy hat can make the journey more tedious. You will different gears to reach the summit. Our highly professional guide will help you to cross the dangerous parts. Upon reaching the summit, you will get to see heart whelming views of the Himalayas and surreal landscape view. After spending some time, you will descend to High Camp for a night stay.
Day 14: Contingency/reserve day
It is an extra day that can be used in case of bad weather or flight delays. If everything goes as per the itinerary then you will get an extra day in Kathmandu to relax and explore around.
Day 15: Lobuche High Camp to Pangboche (3,930m /12900 ft); 8-9 hours
The trail descends towards Pangoche. It's going to be a long day. From High Camp, you will follow the same trail and reach Pheriche. You will get to see amazing views of Mt. Ama Dablam from here. The trail then descends through lush juniper and rhododendron forest and takes you to Pangboche. You will visit the Pangboche monastery.
Day 16: Pangboche to Namche Bazaar; 4-5 hours
The trail follows the same path and descends to Imja Khola. From here, you will ascend via the dense forest and reach Tengboche. Further, passing through another beautiful forest of rhododendron and juniper, you will cross the Dudh Koshi river. The trail passes gorge and goes through more forests, and take you to Namche Bazar.
Day 17: Namche Bazaar to Lukla; 6-7 hours
After having breakfast, you will descend through Sagarmatha National Park and reach Phakding. From here, you will ascend through forested paths and reach Lukla.
Day 18: Fly to Kathmandu
You will take an early morning flight to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will move to the hotel. You can spend the rest of the day as you like. In the evening, you will have a farewell dinner organized by the company.
Day 19: Final departure
Your adventurous journey comes to an end. You will get moved to the airport as per your flight departure time by one of our team members for your next destination.
