You will be trekking through picturesque villages, fine valleys, and dense forests along with crossing streams & pass. Chulu East Peak Climbing begins with a long scenic drive to Besi Shahar that further extends to Chame. From here, you will gradually ascend to Chulu Base Camp passing by Upper Pisang. In the next couple of days, you will reach the top of the Chulu East Peak and descend to beautiful Manang village. The trail then crosses challenging Thorong La Pass and drop down to Muktinath. You will then continue trekking towards Jomsom and fly back to Pohara.

Manang

Manang is one of the most famous places in Nepal. It is a beautiful secluded village where you can see breath-taking landscape views. There are so many things to explore and do in this village-like you can go on a short hike to Bhojo Gumba or Gangapurna Lake.

Thorong La Pass

Located at 4,420 meters, Thorong La Pass is the highest point of Annapurna Circuit Trek. To reach the top of the pass, you have to ascend on the steep rugged trail that is challenging. From the top of the pass, you can see the most gorgeous views of the surrounding.

Muktinath Temple

Muktinath temple is one of the pilgrimage sites of Hindus. Every year hundreds of pilgrims visit this temple to worship. The temple boat thousands of years old tradition and history.

Chulu East Peak Climbing is a challenging activity. The trail demands strong physical fitness and stamina. You have to walk for a minimum of 6 to 7 hours a day. If you have previous trekking experience then you can do this climbing without facing basic problems like getting tired easily, etc.

Altitude Sickness and Prevention

This trek will take you around 6,000 meters, which is a very high altitude trek. And, the high altitude trek always brings chances of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) with it. It is a common illness that occurs during high elevation trekking and can be avoided by adding rest days in between the trek. Also, keep yourself hydrated can decrease the chances of AMS.

Transportation and Bag Pack

The trek begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Besi Shahar and then to Chame. From here, you will gradually ascend all the way up to the Chulu East Peak.

Food and Accommodation during Chulu East Peak Climbing

During Chulu East Peak Climbing, you will be staying overnight in the teahouse/tent. The rooms will have basic facilities with often common washrooms. Food will be served as per the menu of the teahouse. You can find Nepalese, continental, and western dishes on the menu. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu 1334m, transfer to hotel

Arrive at Kathmandu airport, where one of our team members will welcome you and take you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and explore around. In the evening, you will have a welcome dinner organized by the company.

Day 02: Kathmandu preparation for Chulu East Peak Climbing

Today, you will prepare for the trip. Meet with your guide. He will brief you about the trip and go through the gears gradually. You will be informed about the trek and the region you will be traveling. If there will be a problem with equipment then you will do some shopping as well.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Besi Shahar (823 m); 5/6 hrs

Drive to Besi Shahar, the starting point of the trek. The drive will be following the Trishuli river and present you with the gorgeous scenery.

Day 04: Drive to Chame (2,713 m); 6 hrs

Today, the drive will continue towards Chame. On the way, you will pass by Dharapani before reaching Chame.

Day 05: Trek to Upper Pisang (3,250 m); 6 hrs

The trek begins with a narrow path that further goes through dense pine forests. You will come across a huge rock face rising 1,500 meters from the river. The trail then moves towards Upper Pisang while presenting superb views of the Himalayan mountains.

Day 06: Acclimatization day

Today is your rest day at Upper Pisang. You will explore around and go on short excursions.

Day 07: Trek to Chulu Base Camp (3,910 m)

After a warm breakfast, you will move towards the Chulu Base Camp. Walking on a zigzag trail, you will reach a meadow. From here, the trail moves to the base camp from where you will get to see stunning views of the Annapurna range.

Day 08: Trek to High Camp (4,955 m)

The trail gradually ascends while presenting you the breath-taking views. Further, you will climb up on a steep trail and reach the high camp. You and your team will set up the camp and prepare for the summit.

Day 09: Rest day at High Camp

It is your rest day the High Camp. Today, you will go on short hikes. Your team leader will also teach you basic climbing techniques that will help you in further climbing.

Day 10: Summit (6,584 m) and back to Base Camp (3,910 m)

The climbing begins early in the morning. Looking at the weather, you will slowly push towards the summit. The trail will follow slippery glaciers and stone steps. Upon reaching the top, you will move towards the other side of the Chulu East to witness the best views. After spending some time, you will descend to the base camp for a night stay.

Day 11: Chulu East Peak Base Camp trek to Manang (3,540 m)

Following the same path, you will trek back to Manang. The trail will include terraced fields and small villages. You will also visit the Bryaga monastery.

Day 12: Manang acclimatizing day Manang

This day is for acclimatization. You will explore Manang today. You can go on short hikes to nearby hills or villages. From Manang, you will get to see superb views of Chulu West (6,419 m), Chulu East (6,429 m), Mt. Gangapurna (7,454 m), Mt. Annapurna III (7,555 m), and other mountains.

Day 13: Manang trek to Yak kharka (4,210 m)

Crossing a stream, you will ascend to Tenki village. The trail then moves out of Marshyangdi Valley and turns northwest towards Jarsang Khola Valley. Trekking through pastures and scrub of juniper trees, you will ascend. From Ghunsa village, you will pass by meadows and cross a river on a small wooden bridge. Further, passing by the old mani wall, you will reach Yak Kharka.

Day 14: Yak kharka trek to Thorong Phedi (4,640 m)

The trail today will mostly include an uphill walk to Thorong Phedi. You will cross a suspension bridge and reach Ledar village. Further, trekking through huge cliffs, you will reach Thorang Phedi from where you will get to see impressive views of Mt. Syagang, Thorung Peak, Mt. Gundang, and Mt. Khatungkan.

Day 15: Thorung Phedi (4,640 m) to Thorung La Pass (5,416 m) and descend to Muktinath (3,802 m)

Today, you will climb towards the challenging Thorong La Pass. You will begin walking towards the pass early in the morning. Upon reaching the pass, you will see a gorgeous landscape view. The trail then drops down to Muktinath.

Day 15: Muktinath to Jomsom (2,567 m); 5/6 hrs

The trail will mostly descend today on a windy terrain. The day will begin early in the morning with your visit to the Muktinath temple. After that, you will pass by small settlement areas and cross small streams to reach Kagbeni. Further, the trail moves along the Kaligandaki river and crossing a thrilling wooden bridge, you will walk on a lovely path filled with apple trees and reach Jomsom.

Day 16: Fly to Pokhara

An early morning scenic flight will take you back to Pokhara. Upon reaching Pokhara, you will move to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore around the Lakeside market. You will also do boating on the serene Fewa Lake and do shopping.

Day 20: Drive back to Kathmandu

Today, you will fly to Kathmandu. The flight will offer you a scenic view of lush green hills, small settlements, and huge mountains on far distant. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will get moved to the hotel. Have your time for the rest of the day. In the evening, you will join the farewell dinner organized for you by the company.

Day 21: Final departure

As per yu flight scheduled time, one of our delegates will take you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight back to your next destination
